I Have Always Liked REITs
I understand them because they are buying real estate, or office buildings or houses, or storage space, etc. I have a feel for those markets, and I also know that when rates are coming down, it is a good time for REITs as their cost of borrowing goes down and profits go up.
The other reason I liked REITs as an investor is they provide consistent dividend income, so if my income was going down as a lender, I had income replacement through the REITs.
Not advice to buy, just saying this is is an interesting setup and I often think of REITs as an aggressive BOND position in my portfolio.
