CLA Value prop for a CPA

I’m meeting with 3 CPAs in the next 24 hrs and am unclear on how to frame and phrase my value proposition to them as a CPA.

I remember learning in the class that it was to increase their billable hours.

But the CPAs I have talked to either have this obsessive nerdiness to learn about all the details that could help their clients, a driving passion to help people not overpay on taxes, or a simple desire to grow their practice. No one has mentioned wanting to increase their billable hours.

So how do I simply and cleanly tie what they want to what I do? Would you lead with:

  1. Me sending them referrals

  2. My liability review service is a free differentiator and value-add for them

  3. Tie their desire to use their tax expertise to save clients money on taxes with my liability management expertise to help clients save money on borrowing

  4. Keep it simple with a wholistic “Wealth Team” approach- by working together, we can become more valuable to clients, do more, and earn more

I’d like to figure out how to directly tie them filling out a Scenario Desk when they are doing tax prep/client intake to directly impacting them in their goals, and this currently seems abstract instead of practical.

What do you all say to CPAs to get them to send you Scenario Desks as a strategic part of every clients’ tax prep?

Thanks in advance—
